A collection of exquisite photographs by Ranjan Ramchandani take the viewer on a mystical journey through Banaras, India. From Dreamy Lakes to ancient temples and old houses, the artist captures and immortalizes moments in time.

Ranjan had the opportunity to learn from acclaimed photojournalist Steve McCurry and had the privilege of having one-to-one guidance of world renowned photographer,John Isaac.

His limited photographs are printed on exquisite Archival Bamboo Paper by Hahnamulle, the best handmade paper in the world.

To Ranjan, photography is an art; a true medium of self expression. His first book, “Swades; Ladakh: The Land of Splendour” was very successfully launched in September 2010, with proceeds from his book donated to charities associated with the rebuilding of the region.

Professor G.A Dandekar was born in Bilashi, a historical village located in Sangli district, Maharashtra, India.  Since childhood, Dandekar has had a fascination for the lush green valleys of his land and the innocent faces of the people that surrounded him in his home.     

A farmer’s son, G.A Dandekar dreamed of pursuing a formal arts education in J.J Institute. Back in his time and environment, art had little status in society and there was hardly any guidance for aspiring artists.Perseverance and commitment took Dandekar to Mumbai where he enrolled at J.J Institute. Years later, he went on to become professor there.

An established and celebrated artist, Dandekar has exhibited in India, Singapore, Germany, Dubai, Jakarta, London and Paris. Today Dandekar is a well-known name in the art world. He has done several solo shows including the Jahangir Art Gallery, the prestigious Nehru Centre Art Gallery and the Maharashtra Seva Sangh. His work has been featured in several group shows in India in Mumbai, Chennai and Delhi. He has been ranked as one of the 50 leading contemporary artists in India.

Pupuk Daru Puronomo graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design at the Indonesian Arts Institute, Yogyakarta, and was a finalist in Phillip Morris Art competition in 1997.

 

A very celebrated and much sought after artist, he has exhibited in galleries and museums all over the world including NUS Museum Singapore and the Singapore Art Museum.

 

He has also exhibited in Paris and New York.

A trained traditional Balinese dancer from the tender age of 8, Paramartha’s paintings explore dance and culture. His canvases offer insight into the emotional journey that a dancer embarks on with each performance.

 

His paintings speak of the bonds that hold Balinese society. Performance Arts, notably dance, is very highly regarded. Attributes of grace and body control define the traditional Balinese dances.

 

The dancer not only communicates culture through the performance but also assumes the role of an ambassador for his heritage. The donning of make-up, jewellery and costumes are symbolic of the performer assuming this larger social responsibility.
